Hi everyone, I've finally decided to join the forum after spending a while reading different threads.

I'm 19 and my floaters started maybe just over a year ago now, I first noticed them one day when I was at college, I just noticed something fly past my eye and I tried to see what it was, but of course you can't really follow a floater because it seems to float away from your line of vision, so I jsut assumed it was a bug flying past. Hello, I have PVD from a tennis ball strike on 11/2/09. Two weeks hence my symptoms are occasional flashes and one large floater which appears to move counter to my eye movement. On dilation exam, it appears that the detachment spans about 1/4 of the eye sphere from the posterior to medial-anterior.
- How long will it take for complete PVD?
- Will the vitreous sac stay intact through detachment (assuming it still is)?
- Should I consider FOV before complete attachment?

Hi was wondering if anyone knows of doctors in the NY area that will treat or at least be sympathetic to floaters? I've seen 5 different doctors in the last 7 months and they all claim that they have never heard of a treatment for floaters and practically laugh when I mention it. I was excited to see posts about Dr Mackool, but was then disappointed to see that he is no longer accepting new patients.

I am new to this forum and here is my story - last Saturday (4 days ago) i suddenly developed floaters and so side vision flashes as well.
