Hello Everyone, like others on this board, I invested a lot of money into laser treatment yet I'm still looking for a relief from my floaters.
I searched around and I didn't see anything about what I'm posting here. Sorry if this has already been brought up. A relative recently forwarded me the following:
"There was something of interest in the latest Bottom Line Health I was just reading. It has to do with floaters and how to decrease them. Dr. Robert Abel Jr., Ophthalmologist, recommends this..”For most floaters, vitamin C remains the best way to reduce, or even eliminate, them by changing the makeup of the eye liquid’s collagen (fibrous proteins). My recommendation: Take two 1000 mg vitamin C capsules daily for three months”
Has anyone heard of Dr. Abel? Of course, is there any merit to this? Searching around makes me believe that, perhaps, it is worth pursuing. Such as people taking super high doses of Vitamin C for other reasons (migraines) and noticing that their floaters disappeared. Don't know if it's true, but, also reading that concentrations of Vitamin C is 25x times greater in the vitreous also makes me believe there may be a link.
