bn216,

Well I understand your fear of what the doctor would say when you finally get the courage to do it but some doctors will do it for sure, at least you know that now. If you want a local doctor absolutely, then the quest might be harder but I'm sure it's possible at least in the US (don't know where you are from).

As for, "waiting sounds pointless", well that's all in the personality of the people. I am the kind who don't take action easily, so I suffer for now 5 years+ fromt he floaters. I keep thinking about the + and - and am not sure etc. Others, like Sim on this board, took 6 months to take action. He did the research and then decided to go for it. Of course you need money to do it in most cases though. Only you know what kind of person you are.

For the hairloss, believe me if you get rid of floaters one day, you'll probably laught at it. All is relative in life and like you said it yourself the floaters are way worse to you then the hairloss.

I could add that the floaters may have come because of your depression as it is a possible cause that people talka bout here but I know a friend with floaters and unless I am mistaking, I don't think he was ever depressed, even now. So I wonder if it's really related or not. I know I had a small depression before mine appeared but it wasn't major and I took pills for like a week so...
