A simple astigmatic keratotomy should easily do the trick and leave you about -1.00 diopter of myopia. That's about 20/40 or 20/50 uncorrected. IOL exchange is not that easy.

Most ophthalmologists don't bother with AK because patients don't want to pay for it ( insurance won't ).

If you have blue eyes with large pupils, laser may cause some nightime glare. But probably 1000% less than a Restor or Rezoom lens.

Also, if you have 2.75 diopters of astigmatism, it was probably preexisting anyway, and your old glasses would correct it ( minus the sphere ).

Also, a really clean cataract operation will induce up to 0.50 diopter astigmatic change.

Opening the eye again is not the wise choice.

PS....Don't scare your ophthalmologist away...you'll end up being referred to someone else, and the cycle will continue. All surgery is salvage. You came through it OK.....isn't that enough??
