hi everyone,

i got really bad floaters in my right eye when I was 16 - it was like a massive fishing net was swirling around inside my eye ball and it could see it kind of rolling around and folding up on itself everytime i moved my eye. there was also a black dot that used to travel infront of my vision and get in the way of words I was trying to read. it was pretty bad.

but then over time the dot disappeared and the web thing seemed to break up and disperse, leaving me with less noticeable strands that drift around and are generally only really visible in certain situations (although I'm nearly always aware of them). i'd still say i 'have floaters' more than most people, but I think mine is a case of "things improved". I have no idea why - I got no special treatment, and I consider myself extremely lucky for this to have occurred. I can only imagine what it must be like to have floaters in both eyes, badly, and am so sorry for anyone in that position.

I'm still bothered by the floaters that remain and am in full support of all research into a safe cure that can return the eyes to complete clarity, because that's our birthright and that's what everyone deserves... bring on the clear blueskies image
