MrFloater:

1- The "spaceship effect" happen very rarely and for some reason it doesn't worry me. But I will take note, who know if it means something. Maybe with a video someone can tell me what it is.

I thought my GF also had that effect, but I just validated with the video, etc. And she said for her it is more like snow or something. For me it is really concentrated effect when it happen. But it might be a light illusion that happen only in some situation.

Another example I got is in Windows, there is a screen saver named Starfield. So I guess Starfield would be a good name too. But contrary to the screensaver, for me it is very concentrated and the effect follow a line (so like a lot of done, same effect as starfield, but they are all aligned somehow)

So all in all, maybe it is related, but not a real problem for me. If I was seeing that always and eye open, that would be nuts! I heard of people having bad "visual snow", that looks terrible (but then see my problem on #2, effect might be similar, but it is not affecting me in all situation).

2- For the kind of flash or swirl... like I said, I think that was somehow there before. I had a lot of headache the summer before my "annoying floaters" appeared (and probably noticed these swirl in between). I never go to the doctor usually (except for my Crohn appointment) and after like 3 weeks of intense headache, I decided to go to clinic to see if it was not allergia or something. I think the guy prescribed me some nasal pump of something... don't know if it really helped, but I guess I am not good to complaint really hard and go back if I don't get a satisfactory answer (even if I know it is not right). I am bad at it and it goes out all wrong, so often I shut up and endure. But I must admit that this effect is undesirable and is a part of my problem. A friend told me it was similar, but I gotta validate harder (because sometime people think it is similar and when we explain really well, they say "oh not the same", like I just did with my GF for the starfield... with a video I can explain easily)

I did go see the Ophthalmologist like a year ago. It was not only for the floaters (but it was part of my question), but found out the redness on my eyelid was Blepharitis (I had it in my previous visit to Ophthalmologist, but they never were explicit about it, they told me to put warm compress and baby shampoo in the eye, I validated "in the eye", actually the treatment is on the eyelid, NOT THE EYE!). I never had real eyes problem before, but latest years I had some Chalazion and then Blepharitis (and this persist... I should resume a the treatment that doesn't give instant result but I often feel too tired or non-motivated to do anything... but I am getting mad now, so I guess I slowly begin to take real actions...). Blepharitis probably did not help my eyes as my eyelid is constantly inflamed.

Well, for the floater I was already prepared to receive a "there is nothing that can be done", so I was not surprised to get that response, but they were very terrible at that time (and I am sure doctors did not think about it as "that terrible"). So I had a lot of little annoying problems. Thing like headache somehow is less there now I would say, but I often feel lack of energy (but that is since some years).

Well back to the kind of flash, the Ophthalmologist asked if I had flash, I asked her what flash would be... because I was wondering if it was that effect or other thing, then she said you do not have flash (because I was hesitating or questioning so she probably thought I was searching for it). I am not someone who is always black or white (see I am not always "sure", maybe because I often see further details or do not like to conclude falsely, when in doubt, I ask question). However, I probably had the same effect that I try to describe but I am unsure how to. They might be flash, they might be kind-of floaters, might be something else. It sure is very annoying. I will maybe try to put on paper all these kind of problem and go back to ophthalmologist and ask what they were till I get an appropriate explanation, else I should seek another ophthalmologist.

Well the Ophthalmologist examined me back in time, but I do not know all what she checked. I sure suppose she examined the health of my eye. But who know sometime people say no trouble and that is because they don't see the trouble.

Floaters doesn't scare me health wise (but I know my health is really not going up since some years), but they annoy me. But still multiple problems might hide something else and I won't rule that out (no matter if people say it is hypochondria or whatever, you don't need to be too smart to know there is problems when your body send you signal! The thing is, what is the problem? And can it be reversible? Or some effect, like floaters, are irreversible even if the problem fix itself).

I was very sensible to light back then... (that diminushed too) however she had nothing to say about this. Found out that Blepharitis could cause light sensibility. And I had other symptoms too, noted somewhere in a doc.

Well the link here with what you say is that I had serious headache to the point I did go see if there was a problem (and I am not that kind to go fast like I said, so it was probably very painful for me to go...). And then the eye problems. Maybe a coincidence, but still there was multiple problems accumulating.

Well it is very hard to describe these kind of effect... Sure I wish some miracle happen, but I don't hear much people here that their floaters disappeared like this... but who know... situation keep improving floater-wise, but that may be only "luck" and it could go both side (worse or better).

3- For your thing, it might be vitreous opacity, I think floaters is that problem somehow... so that might explain it. Maybe I don't understand 100% (like I said I am not always 100% sure!!!! But I prefer not to assume [maybe because I find out too much people assume a lot of thing erroneously in life and move on and then hit a wall!]). But when it move, it move like a floaters, slowly and it act like a glass over thing? I heard some people seeing purple spot too (their floaters in dark?)

Well like any problem (computer, software, house renovation, car problem, health problem, math, relationship, etc.), it is a good thing to find the cause or at least be able to describe it well. Doctor should also put the emphasis on understand well your problem and ask questions till they really understand (and not assume! -- I don't say all doctors does that, but some does). That is a first step to fix a problem. ;-) That doesn't mean they know or we will find the solution easily. But it sure is interesting that we see other eye effects or problem that seem related.
