The white sparkles are told to be normal. If they really are white blood cells it`s quite logical. I have watched on Discovery Channel that the eye of the octopus is very different from this of a mammal. When I studied the structure of the human eye I remember I thought for a moment that there was a mistake in the text book. I couldn`t understand how the cells of the retina are behind the axons of the neurons. I though it was exactly the other way. In the octopus` eye the optical nerve is completely behind the retina an doesn`t go inside out of it. The same thing is about the blood vessels. That means that the octopus doesn`t have the blind spot, which is characteristic for our eyes. So if a blood vessel is infront of a retina cell it`s inevitable not to be seen. My little brother (11yo) says he sees the same things - they look like snow flakes he says. However if the sparks were the only thing I wouldn`t pay them absolutely no attention. I saw them months after I saw my floaters - this proves the these that the more you look the more you see.
Good luck to you all!
