Hi Joe

My floaters came three years ago when i was your age. They got worse for a few months then appearance of new floaters slowed down (touch wood) with only the odd new one ...or at least significant one...once a year or so. I have douzens of floaters in my right eye but not so many in my left (although if i were to stare at a white sheet on a washing line on a bright day i probably would see loads in my left (thats normal...most people can see some floaters under those extreme circumstances).
My floaters in ly right eye are almost exactly the same in severity as the photo mock up of vitreous syneresis on the home page of Dr Geller....that looks fairly bad i think, but that said, i coudl live with the situation if it weren't for the darkest, most distinct floater.
Whether floaters are bad or not...i think if someone had to look at a white sky to find their floaters or only saw them in the right conditions at the beach then they are not severe and just normal aging...if one sees floaters inside in a poorly lit room, walking in town, the shops etc then they are, to whatever degree, worse than 'normal'.
