i know it's all relative but, I can, in a reluctant kind of way, sympathise with eye Dr's who are confronted with some people who complain persistantly about a couple of tiny clear dots they can find if they look at the sky...I don't think there is anyone on the board like that ...though sometimes you'll see the odd person pop up and ask if seeing a pin prick sized dot when looking at the sky is 'normal'. I do think that these people don't help our cause but equally, although i'm quite level headed, i can see how people could, if depressed or even suddenly noticed floaters for the first time, get obessed by 'normal' floaters. They are that kind of thing!
I think my floaters are pretty bad but in truth they are probably in the middle re severity of those suffered on this board...in a well lit room with eyes closed i can only see a couple...these are my worst one's so i think closing eyes in a well lit room is a fairly good gauge.
Although floaters dancing around does make concentration difficult (i could never read a book outside on a sunny day - it would be horrendous), its rare and only for a split second that a floater would actually block anythinn out when i am inside(maybe one letter in small print for a moment) so sometimes i feel a bit amshamed when i hear of people who cannot actually see things - not cos they cannot ignore the floaters but because the floaters block things out.
