Complete loss of vision is a statistically insignificant risk.  Some loss of visual acuity is a slightly less insignificant risk.  As I said, there are risks to all operations.  There are risks in everyday life (most of my physical injuries come from the various risks associated with certain physical activities - i.e. broken foot (both feet), injured back, etc.) It doesn't mean you shouldn't take calculated risks.

Personally, I prefer doctors who present all the risks and allow the patient to make an informed decision.
