Hi amiable...
I guess you're right - I am lucky to have very good eye doctors here. How bad are your floaters, and how long have you had them?
Every day and almost every moment - especially during daylight hours - I'm distracted by this swarm of floaters. I long for my pre-floater life. But we all have our challenges. This one's mine, and your's.
I finally found a doctor that could see my floaters very well - Dr. Nielson in Quincy, MA. He said it looked like a snow globe all shook up. He said there are a few things we could try. #1: Add a second pillow to sleep on. He said this sometimes works by letting gravity pull the floaters down at night. #2: If this fails, he can use a YAG laser to dissipate some of the larger ones. #3: FOV which he said he wouldn't recommend or perform, but if I had to have it done, he could find someone to perform it. Of course, I'd only to to a doctor who performs this regularly.
So far, the pillow technique hasn't worked at all - it's been only about a week though. But my hopes are not all that high for this double-pillow approach. We'll see.
I try to remind myself every day that I will see clearly without spots again some day - and I will. I've just got to be patient. I'm not rushing to an FOV yet, but I predict I'll get that done eventually.
Take care,
David
