Amiable,

Congratulations on finding a doctor to perform FOV!! :) That's great news, and I hope it will all work out well for you. By the way, 30,000P is $625 per eye based on 48P per $1. That sounds relatively inexpensive considering that the treatment for YAG surgery is $1600 / eye according to Dr. Geller in Florida. You mentioned that you wanted to get another checkup to make sure the eye floaters aren't caused by an underlying disease - haven't you already ruled that out after 3 years of going to eye doctors? Do you have PVD (posterior vitreal detachment) in either or both eyes? My eye doctor recently said that I did which is fairly rare for someone of my age (34). He said that was the cause of my eye floaters.

Back to Dr. Geller - I spoke with him the other day and described to him my condition (tons of floaters & PVD in both eyes). Based on my description he thought I might be a good candidate for YAG. I think I'll fly down to his office next month just to have him take a look. If he thinks the YAG will help my eyes, I'll come back on a future date to have it done. There's a chance my insurance might cover it.

Keep us posted on your journey toward FOV.
