italk,

I think one point you need to clarify in your particular case is if Dr. S, will induce a PVD or not in your case. I re-read your description of your consultation and he clearly stated he will go close to the retina and will surely remove all the floaters by doing so. It sounds like he will go as close as possible without inducing PVD because you don't have PVDs at all that started yet.

The inducing PVD question needs to be clearly asked to Dr. S. by someone by simply asking: "Do you ALWAYS induce PVD no matter what?". Some doctors believe that doing a vitrectomy for floaters without inducing a PVD is a waste of time ans should not be done. I would like to know if Dr. S. is one of them or not. It can be allright to not be. I mean imagine a doctor who does it no matter what but then you get the wavy vision that some people had here because too much stress was put on the retina.

If anyone can clarify this it would be very appreciated.

Take care all.
