Hello stringyeye,
I'm absolutely sure that you are in very good hands and everything will be fine ;) You'll see that you made the right decision and your surgeon is concerned with you since it seems your case it's important to him. I see you are making all you can to assure that everything will be fine and I'm sure it will ;)
Regarding your surgeon you could introduce to him oneclearvision.org website after your surgery and telling the importance of this website to help floater sufferers like ourself since names can be put there without email contacts to avoid spam :P I'm helping them too as if you check the directory it has much more names than before and it has a positive effect. For example I asked authorization for my surgeon to put his name there and introduced the OCV site but I didn't put his email there.
Anyway be calm that everyting will turn great after. The procedure isn't that bad and you can require more sedation not to be aware of it if you like and when you reallize he will say to you "It's all done!" :P You won't feel anything or see the most part of the procedure and it's fast so it will be over soon and the next day you'll take the patch off and voilá, free :D
You have all the odds in your favour so relax, think positive and everything will be alright.
You don't need to thank me as I'm here to help people the much I can... To make sure that it's possible to avoid long-term suffering from floaters like my case which is going to almost 10 years... and yes I'm sure you can imagine how badly I'm wishing to have my life back and all of this finished.... Thanks for your kind words and encouragement too about my surgery :)
I'm sure in the end we will look behind all of this phase as a nightmare that never happened :)
Good luck to your surgery, I'm wishing you all the good and sending you positive vibes ;)
Regards :)
