Hi Dave, When my FOV eye eventually got a cataract two years after the initial surgery, I asked my cataract surgeon if he would go in and remove the remaining vitreous from behind the lens during the cataract surgery. He was happy to and did not even hesitate. Also, after the surgery I told him that I had heard how sometimes it happens that the capsular bag that the IOL is inserted into becomes opaque and requires a laser treatment to punch holes in it in order to see, and how this can sometimes create new floaters (I read about this somewhere on this board). He delighted me by saying that, in addition to removing the vitreous from behind the lens, he also peeled off a membrane or something like that, so I have 0% chance of this clouding occuring.

Like Dave, I have a few free-floating black dots, one that is slightly larger that my doc says will disappear over time. It is indeed smaller today than it was the day after surgery, so I can only hope that this trend continues.
