I haven't really considered Dr. Wong at this point. I've been going to a retinal specialist where I live who repaired my retinal tear. I have tons of confidence in him. He does a lot of vitrectomies but most are not for floaters. My first impression months ago was that he was not interested in doing floater vitrectomies. Over the last two appointments, he told me he does them and would do one on me. I actually may give the laser guy another shot since my last episode Tuesday where I must have had what I hope is the final part of PVD. I have a huge dark floater right in my central vision. The laser doctor wants to take a look at me to make sure he can't solve my problems before jumping into a FOV. While I admit I have my doubts about laser, it has helped me a little (not enough that I wouldn't get a FOV). I took down my YAG post because in talking to my retina specialist, my optometrist, and the laser doctor, they all are telling me that what I have/am experiencing is not really "normal" whatever that means. My retina doctor was surprised I called him on Wednesday about this new floater. His concern after the retina repair and any potential FOV on my current eye really was what was going to happen when I have PVD on my other eye. Back to Dr. Wong, there is a recent post on here from a guy who had a FOV by Dr. Wong and was happy. I admire Dr. Wong for righting his blog about floaters and FOV and responding to emails from perfect strangers.
