Hi Jojo,

I just wanted to ask how you got on yesterday. I hope everything went well!

Partial PVD is when part of the vitreous humous (the jelly stuff in the eye) begins to become detached from the retina. This can be a cause of floaters. It gradually degenerates and eventually all separates from the retina. But the time it takes varies greatly from one person to another. Ophthalmologists can see whether this has happened if they use the right lenses.

You know,  I don't think doctors know what causes floaters. Obviously, if you get hit in the eye, then it's quite clear. Other than that, age is the normal culprit. However, on this board there are many very young people like yourself, so there have got to be other reasons. During pregnancy, a woman's body changes so much, maybe hormones play a role? I mean it's not necessarily just limited to women who get pre-eclampsia etc.

Anyway, I just wish they would find a safe cure.

Hope you are doing well,

Kasieta
