So ... here I am, two vitrectomies and two new Clarivu lenses later - seeing clearly, no floaters, its fantastic, I just need some ready readers for close up work.   The ops both went well, no pain at all, had the air bubble each time but although a weird thing, it was fine, just like having a horizon in your eye which gradually diminished (a week in both eyes)  Andy Luff did the surgery at Optegra Southampton, and I too would highly recommend him.  My left eye is not quite there prescription-wise but that can be sorted with laser in 3 months time.  Its a serious amount of money but what price clear sight?? Just what some people pay for a car.  I wanted to put something positive on here because as someone observed it is easy just to leave a forum when the problem has gone.  I suffered with floaters for so long and it was easy to become depressed about the prospect of never seeing well, but now that is a distant memory, you so quickly adapt to what many people take for granted, ie clear sight.  Start saving those pennies!
