Krill, I applaud your efforts to collect and consolidate users FOV statistics. It is a lot of work and will be valuable. However, it will take some time to build a database of enough information to be statistically significant and it doesn't capture the vast history of FOV reporting that has been posted to this forum for the last 10+ years. But it is a good effort to get started and I encourage anyone who has had an FOV and is still active here to send your information and results to Krill (reply to his post).

I have myself been looking for some basic stats on users FOV outcomes but find I must search the forum for old posts and scour hundreds and hundreds of posts to sometimes only get a dead end. Myself and I believe most others who come to this forum do so for two reasons:

1) Looking for a solution to fix their floaters, find FOV is the only fix then scour the archives trying to understand the real risks and probable outcomes based on experiences of others so they can make a decision on their own surgery.

2) Have had FOV and come so share their results & story or are looking for answers and support to help them with their post FOV issues or complications.

For me, I would have liked to find a simple running scorecard for those who have had FOV consisting of just the basics and kept in reverse chronological order (newest first):

UserName, FOV Date, Surgeon, %Improvment, Regret Y/N, Complications (single words)

I am proposing a sticky thread be created where the 1st post is the summary listing as above (with instructions also). Users can reply to that post with their own results OR the results of someone else who had an FOV and reported it on this forum. This would allow anyone who knows of prior members FOV and results to get the result listed so the history is captured, even if incomplete.

As replies with the basic FOV info are posted, the first post can be edited to add or update a particular FOV case. If a former member logs on they will likely read this first post of the USERS FOV RUNNING SCORECARD and if they see their FOV listed they can add, update or correct the information as needed.

This would allow anyone to scour the archives and post results they find to the end of the thread for inclusion to capture past history and also allow new FOV results to be added going forward. All that would be required is a link back to the original FOV users post to validate the information.

It also allows anyone looking for more detailed information or discussion of any particular FOV to search for the FOV username in Krills post, the archives or just the thread below this summary to find the post with links. There is no need to duplicate all the details in the summary here.

Comments? Suggestions?
I can initiate the thread and will update it regularly if there is consensus that it would work and be valuable.
