According to him that happens because most doctors don't shave peripheral vitreous enough so you can see that in your vision. Regards.
Well, I can tell you that isn't possible with everyone. I just had my 3rd FOV on my left eye because of my massive frill. I waited 2 years before I did this. I can tell you it did fade, but, I could still see the edge of it (like the edge of glass which refracted light in a way that made it see it everywhere).
My surgeon performed sclera depression and also bent the vitrector. He removed absolutely everything he could *safely* remove but was very aggressive -- he is an excellent surgeon. The end result after a month is that my frill is pushed back to my far periphery. It's still there, but, it takes a lot more light to see it, but, when it does "light up" it looks like a shadowy blob bouncing around in my far periphery. Before it was an edge of an arc. My other eye also has a left-over frill but it's so clear now and pushed back so far that I rarely notice it. I hope that I get the same result on my recently operated eye over time.
Am I disappointed? I'd be lying if I said I wasn't. I just want this to be over. But, I would still have done it again. My surgeon did improve my situation and I'm grateful for it. And, when it's time for cataract surgery, my anterior vitreous will be shaved at the same time and then it *will* be gone. In the mean time, I continue to adapt and cope.
