Thank you all for your support. Even those whose words were construed as harsh. I'm very glad that core vitrectomy has worked out for others even if it hasn't (yet at least) for me. Dr. Sebag reported almost 100% patient satisfaction with his core procedure so I went ahead with it, but perhaps there's more to the story than what he presents. I wonder how many other of his patients have developed "frill" to the point that it's nearly as bad as the original problem.

Ken, I did alert him to the problem at our last visit and he said he only had two other patients complain about "frill" (he even used that term--perhaps he's been reading on this forum?). I'm not sure if this complaint works its way into his statistics.

Nonetheless, I'm still hoping to get further information about the possibility that the frill could disappear with time. It's frustrating that it appeared so long after surgery. On the one hand, I think that's a bad sign, but on the other hand, perhaps it could go as easily as it came? Has anyone else had residual vitreous on the top and bottom as well as the side or am I just messed up? It's almost like there is a bouncing tunnel that I look through. Perhaps Lasik really did just destroy my eye's ability to block out interior obstructions (whether floaters or frill).

Thanks again for your encouraging posts.
