Hi,

only thing on this is that high myopia gives you a much higher risk of a retinal detachment. that high of a number puts you at risk even without the surgery. did you talk with the doc about those risks? that might be why he doesn't want to do it.
I have high myopia (-11.5/12.25) - eye that had the detachment (w/laser) is the one I had FOV on. The other one has floaters - doc said I shouldn't really consider having the fov there because of the high risk. And he is a very sympathetic doc - really helped me with making decisions and getting the fov on the bad eye. I trust the guy - which is the feeling that you need to have with your doc.

I'm not saying your floaters aren't bad - I had most of my vision blocked for over a year before I had the fov - but there are risks. For someone who hasn't had floaters - they just don't get it!
