I took Zyban for one day and trembled so much that I never took another pill. Nothing happened to my eyes as a result of the Zyban. A couple years later, my eye problems began the first day I took Provigil. My first symptom was flashes rather than floaters. The flashes looked like a burning asteroid or comet coming at me. I was sitting on the sofa when it happened, and I was so startled that I ducked. I took the Provigil for one week only, and during that time, not only did I see flashes, but I also kept seeing black things that looked like flies or other flying bugs, which I would swipe my hand at, thinking that they were real. When I stopped taking Provigil after one week, I hoped that these symptoms would go away, and the flashes did, but the "bugs" remained. I saw an ophthalmologist who diagnosed floaters, and he didn't think there was any correlation to my taking Provigil. He said there was nothing that could be done about the floaters. A couple days after I saw him, one of the floaters lodged in front of my line of vision in one eye and just stayed there. It's been there for several months, and I have very blurred vision in that eye. I didn't realize it at first, but now I have realized that the flashes and floaters have only occurred in my right eye. I've had migraines for 20 years or more, and they're always in my right eye, too.
