Hi,
My name is Tina and this is my first time posting on this site. I am 26 years old. I had lasik surgery for almost 5 years now. I really don't know if lasik had anything to do with the floaters, it may have or it may have not. I developed floaters almost 3 months now. At first I only saw them in my right eye, now I see them in both eyes. I don't really know what to say but except that I do feel down about them. At first when I got them I was so depressed. All I wanted to do was stay home and just mope around. I didn't even want to go to my classes.
I went to the doctor and my doctor also has floaters and he's had them on and off. He told me that generally the floaters go away in 6 - 8 months. After I found this site and read that some floaters don't go away, I went back to my eye doctor and asked him about that. Basically he said that even if you have them you can get use to them. He told me that I still have both my arms and legs and that I am a healthy young woman.
I guess he is right to a certain extent. I mean I guess I can still see right. I guess the point is that we need to learn to deal with them one way or another. Just go on with our lives. I currently am starting to practice meditation and I feel that it will help me, I believe that I will find my peace of mind one day.
Also, I don't know if stress can cause floaters but I developed floaters after being really really really stressed out for about 2 months.
