I had lasik about 3 weeks ago and I have had no problems. It was the best thing I could have done! It really is a big risk and you have to make sure you are a candidate for it. Most people who have problems probably went to an inexperienced surgeon. There is a post on here that tells you not to do it because it is not worth it because you get floaters and dry eyes and other symptoms. i have had very small discomfort with dry eyes and have less floaters than before i did the surgery, so I think the outcomes are different in everyone.
2 major things that you should consider and do before you go through with it. 1st and most importantly, make sure you REALLY are a good candidate i.e. Cornea over 500 microns, (remember if the cornea goes under 400 microns after the surgery the eyes shap will loose its integrity and you will surely have problems. pupil under 7.5 mm., no history of dry eyes. Make sure they have the latest equipment, eye tracking technology. Make sure you ask the doctor if they did these tests on you and what was the outcome!!
2nd get an experienced doctor and attempt to speak with atleast five people who did there surgery there. Remember everybodys outcome is different but you get a better idea of all possible outcomes.
