Hey all,
I just wanted to point something that I observed. I had had floaters for a while but have been pretty stable for the past few years. But during the course of my academic year (I am a college student working in a lab) I had a few new ones develop. I think this has a lot to do with UV radiation exposure upon the eyes. Since the lens of the eye basically acts as a magnifing glass to condense light rays (electromagnetic radiation) wouldn't it also be possible that UV light and other forms of harmful radiation are focused on to the backs of your retina??? I say this because my lab has a UV lamp to decontaminate stuffs and sometimes I cannot help but walk by without my eyes shielded ( I don't wear goggles in this place because there aren't any hazardous chemicas but how stupid of me!) so it was exactly this time period and a liittle later on that I developed more and larger floaters. Since the sun emits all kinds of radiation and UV radiation strikes our eyes all the time when we go out, would it be logical to presume that the sun is causing our floaters?? I don't seem to recall anyone in the dark having these problems as frequent as the rest of us. I know it may sound far-fetched but I think it's still plausible. Thanks for paying attention to my rant.
