Hello all, I am new to this sight but glad I found it. Unfortunately, I developed floaters about 6 months ago after giving birth to my first child. I actually think this is where it all started, as it was a very longand difficult labor. Anyway, I first noticed a floater in my left eye when i was painting a room in my house. It looked like a ball of swarming gnats but I didn't think too much about it and went on. Over the course of the next couple weeks, i began seeing all kinds of new floaters, in both eyes. I went to my eye doctor who said "they are just floaters, I have them too, you just have to live with it" Not what I wanted to hear but what can you do?
So, the last couple of months have been realitvely hard as I don't enjoy anything like i use to (use to love outdoor activity but now it's more of a challenge) but I'm doing my best to work everyday and just get on with life. Easier said than done right? And, just when I thought I was beginning to learn to live with my floaters and accept them, I started noticing that every time i move my eyes or blink, I get a flash of light in my right eye. It moves with the movement of my eye and lasts a few seconds, then disappears. Its been happening for the last week and has me kind of freaked out, does this sound serious or just normal with eye floaters? Anyone else experience this? I'm so scared of it being a retinal tear or detachment.....but I don't want to pay to go back to my eye doctor for him to tell me its nothing(i don't have vision insurance). Anyone else experience this?
