Today I visited a new ophthalmologist for an eval for something unrelated to floaters. Because I had indicated "severe floaters" in my chart, he asked me about them. After telling him a bit about my situation, I was bracing myself for the same old dismissive, nonchalant attitude I've encountered so many times before. Instead, he just looked at me and said, "I'm so sorry." I was shocked. When I told him about my upcoming vitrectomy plans, he seemed to understand my reasons for wanting to do it. It was really refreshing to finally have someone hear me.
