Hi , I havent been on the forum for quite a long time however i just wanted to share some good news for those considering FOV, i had my left eye done April 2012 with some minor complications, residial frill and some debris the eye couldnt filter out, rectified in December, last Monday i had a vitrectomy in my right eye and the results are fantastic, the air bubble is nearly gone , very little pain and i can see through almost crystal clear fluid above it in only 5 days,( the bubble dissapears downwards as your brain inverts the image , wierd )
Both procedures were carried out by Optegra in Southampton, the surgeon was Andy Luff
As this forum often has many distressed people looking for help i cant praise Optegra enough, i had tried laser before but to no avail and vitrectomy was my only other route , you can never undertake such an invasive operation without massive worry in the weeks leading up, and nothing has caused me this much stress in my life, a difficult divorce was a walk in the park compared to the eye problems Ive had over the last few years ,my only advice is just do it if your life and emotional state are affected
If anyone in the south is looking for a surgeon or clinic to discuss their floater nightmare i can wholeheartedly recommend them, this probably sounds like im giving them a huge plug of free advertising ,well lets be honest i am but im so chuffed to be free of these horrible floaters that have plagued my life i just wanted to share my experience, and hope this gives hope to anyone else struggling with the floater nightmare
