I am 52 years old. My severe floaters came on suddenly 5 days ago, wasn't doing anything abnormal. Just one eye is affected. Can't imagine going through years with them. I am currently waiting 3 weeks to go back to the opthalmologist to see how much they might diminish/ my brain will filter them out. The doctor said they were "very impressive" and "whoppers". He told me there is a surgery for it that he can do. I am looking forward to it. I don't want to waste any time. Meanwhile, would it be helpful to wear an eyepatch? I did buy a black one at CVS. It is better to not have to think about the floater, just block it off. Also, I am a frequent on and off user of nose spray due to allergies at night blocking off my nose. Could this have caused the floater? Also, I am strongly myopic.
